The Department of Actuarial Sciences is the first department in our country to offer 4-year undergraduate education in this field. Actuarial; It is the department where insurance techniques and related investment, financing and demography issues are taught, creating insurance tables by applying Mathematical-Statistical theories and techniques, determining tariffs and technical principles in accordance with legal regulations, calculating reserves and profit shares and preparing financial reports regarding them. The Department of Actuarial Sciences, which provides education and training in line with the needs of the insurance and finance sectors of our country, has harmonized the branches of Finance, Mathematics and Statistics in the most general sense. All courses of the department are conducted by senior managers, actuaries and experts in the field, both from academic circles and working in the sector. On the other hand, in addition to the basic courses, courses and their contents are updated in parallel with the developments in our country and the world, and education is supported with seminars and projects.

Students of the Actuarial Sciences department practically reinforce the theoretical knowledge they have acquired at school during their minimum 4-week internships directly in the insurance sector, insurance consultancy firms, fund management departments in the finance sector, and public institutions such as SGK and Insurance Supervisory Board, primarily in actuarial departments at the headquarters of insurance companies. .

In addition, since our faculty is located in Istanbul, the center of the Turkish insurance and finance world, faculty members and students can easily follow the changes and innovations in the insurance sector and communicate with the sector easily. Our students prepare insurance risks, premiums and compensation calculations, insurance contracts and tariffs in life, fire, accident, transportation, engineering and other branches through statistics and probability calculations, and learn the management of accumulated funds both theoretically and practically. They have the opportunity to work as senior managers in the financial sector, both in the public and private sectors.
